چکیده

We propose a method for sensor array self-localization using set of sources at unknown locations. The produce signals whose times arrival are registered the sensors. look general case where neither emission nor reference time frames receivers known. Unlike previous work, our directly recovers geometry, instead first estimating timing information. key component is new loss function which insensitive to timings. cast problem as minimization non-convex functional Euclidean distance matrix microphones and subject certain constraints. After convexification, we obtain semidefinite relaxation gives an approximate solution; subsequent refinement on proposed via Levenberg-Marquardt scheme final Our achieves state-of-the-art performance in terms reconstruction accuracy, speed, ability work with small number receivers. It can also handle missing measurements exploit prior geometric temporal knowledge, example if either receiver offsets or known, contains compact subarrays known geometry.

Localizing vapor-emitting sources by moving sensors

In a recent paper, the authors have explored the use of novel concentration sensors for detecting and localizing vapor-emitting sources. As was shown there, an array of sensors (at least five) is needed for this purpose in general. In the present paper we propose to replace stationary sensors by moving sensors, thus gaining two important advantages: 1 ) A single moving sensor can accomplish the...

Localizing Lung Sounds: Eigen Basis Decomposition for Localizing Sources Within a Circular Array of Sensors

Lung disorders or injury can result in changes in the production of lung sounds both spectrally and regionally. Localizing these lung sounds can provide information to the extent and location of the disorder. Difference in arrival times at a set of sensors and triangulation were previously proposed for acoustic imaging of the chest. We propose two algorithms for acoustic imaging using a set of ...

Light Sources with Unknown

This paper reconsiders the familiar case of photometric stereo under the assumption of Lambertian surface reeectance and three distant point sources of illumination. Here, it is assumed that the directions to and the relative strengths of the three light sources are not known a priori. Rather, estimation of these parameters becomes part of the problem formulation. Each light source is represent...

Localizing Sensors from Their Responses to Targets

The spatial relations between sensors placed for target detection can be inferred from the responses of individual sensors to the target objects. Motivated by this fact, this paper proposes a method for estimating the location of sensors by using their responses to target objects. The key idea of the proposal is that when two or more sensors simultaneously detect an object, the distances betwee...

Reconstructing MEG Sources with Unknown Correlations

Existing source location and recovery algorithms used in magnetoencephalographic imaging generally assume that the source activity at different brain locations is independent or that the correlation structure is known. However, electrophysiological recordings of local field potentials show strong correlations in aggregate activity over significant distances. Indeed, it seems very likely that st...
